SERVICES

Many Christians do not feel comfortable getting help for emotional issues from a "secular" doctor because they do not share the same worldview. As a Christian Psychiatrist, I offer patients mental health care from a biblical perspective. Many of my patients have been blessed when I prayed with them and addressed issues from a practical biblical standpoint. One lady recently told me about "the ripple effect" my sessions with her had on her family.

Having served in the military, I understand many of the unique challenges that face the service member and his or her family. Going to or returning from deployment, being stationed overseas, being separated from loved ones, losing a buddy, or experiencing combat can have lasting effects on you and your family. Whether you are on active duty, are retired, a veteran, or a family member, we at Veritas are grateful for your sacrifice to our nation.

Whether you are housebound for physical or psychological reasons, are a busy professional who has little time, or you live so far from Grand Rapids that driving to your appointment is cost-prohibitive, the Telepsychiatry component of my practice offers improved access to care, continuity of care and convenience for your mental health needs. Using a laptop or PC from the comfort of your own home or private office, Veritas Telepsychiatry allows you to have a video-conferencing appointment with me over the internet.

MIND, BODY, SPIRIT.

Treatment Goals

My goals for treatment are to strive for excellence in your mental health by:

  • Getting to know you as a person.

  • Searching for root causes for your symptoms.

  • Identifying and addressing any spiritual issues affecting the clinical picture.

  • Simplifying the medications and using only the lowest effective doses needed.

  • Coordinating care with your primary care physician, therapist, and/or specialist.

  • Increasing your ability to function.

  • Improving your quality of life.

While I realize that I cannot control what choices you make or what happens to you, I will do my best to keep you out of the hospital as much as possible. Most of all, I want to give you the best possible chance to fulfill the purpose for which God created you so that He is glorified. I want to see you walk with Him so that He can bless, protect, and use you for His kingdom and glory.
