For people who want Bariatric Surgery, the insurance companies are now requiring a Psychiatric Evaluation for Mental Health Clearance before the surgeon can schedule the surgery.

Veritas Psychiatry is willing to provide this one-time evaluation as a service to people in the community. The appointment is a streamlined, yet comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that is scheduled for an hour. If mental health issues are identified that are inadequately treated or managed, a letter with recommendations for consideration will be offered to the Primary Care Physician, or the patient may elect to become a patient in my practice, if they so desire.

A letter is sent to the Bariatric Surgeon’s office indicating whether, or not, the patient is cleared for their surgery, along with diagnoses and any psychiatric medications the patient is taking.
